Once upon a time in the arid beauty of Colorado’s high desert, an outdoor enthusiast named Duane faced a familiar, frustrating problem: dry, itchy skin, ashy, and sore muscles from long days canyoneering, backpacking, hiking, gardening, and exercising under the sun, wind, and cold.

Called to steward the body as God's temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and do whatever her hands find to do with all her might (Ecclesiastes 9:10), Duane sought skincare that honored faith, her values, health, and nature—but most products contained harsh chemicals or simply failed, leaving skin worse off.

Determined to create a natural solution aligned with faith, health, and sustainability, Duane drew on expertise as a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Certified Permaculture Designer, Clinical Mental Health and former Lab Scientist. With over a decade working with herbs and natural formulas—using plants in her food forest backyard - Outdoorsy Skincare was born.
